Agent-based negotiation and decision making for dynamic supply chain formation

چکیده
Modern businesses are facing the challenge of effectively coordinating their supply chains from upstream to downstream services. It is a complex problem to search, schedule, and coordinate a set of services from a large number of service resources under various constraints and uncertainties. Existing approaches to this problem have relied on complete information regarding service requirements and resources, without adequately addressing the dynamics and uncertainties of the environments. The real-world situations are complicated as a result of ambiguity in the requirements of the services, the uncertainty of solutions from service providers, and the interdependencies among the services to be composed. This paper investigates the complexity of supply chain formation and proposes an agent-mediated coordination approach. Each agent works as a broker for each service type, dedicated to selecting solutions for each service as well as interacting with other agents in refining the decision making to achieve compatibility among the solutions. The coordination among agents concerns decision making at strategic, tactical, and operational level. At the strategic level, agents communicate and negotiate for supply chain formation; at the tactical level, argumentation is used by agents to communicate and understand the preferences and constraints of each other; at the operational level, different * Corresponding author. Mans3c: an Agent-based Multi-attribute Negotiation Framework for Construction Supply Chain Coordination
There are many problems in construction process, such as fragmentation, budget overrun, time overrun and high waste, most of which are supply chain problems and often caused by the lack of coordination and information sharing across organizations in the supply chains. Supply chain coordination (SCC) is a critical success factor for the application of supply chain management to effectively impro...
متن کاملAgent-based Coalitions in Dynamic Supply Chains
Coalition formation is an important issue in multi-agent systems. Recent work in the area has focused on reducing the complexity of forming coalitions, i.e., each agent deliberately searches for potential coalition members before negotiating with them. We propose a framework for coalition formation of agents in a dynamic supply chain environment. The framework is composed of a negotiation proto...

متن کاملAn extended contract net mechanism for dynamic supply chain formation and its application in China petroleum supply chain management
Software agents representing supply chain partners make it possible to automate supply chain management and particularly can address the challenging problem of automating the process of dynamic supply chain formation. This paper puts forward an extended contract net mechanism for dynamic supply chain formation and applies it to China petroleum supply chain management, which is characterized by ...
متن کاملDecision Making of Negotiation Agents Using Markov Chains
In dynamic and complex negotiation environments, a negotiation agent can participate or quit negotiation at any time and can reach an agreement with more than one trading partner as the result of the existence of dynamic outside options. Thus, it’s important for a negotiation agent to make a decision on when to complete negotiation given market dynamics. Rather than explicitly modelling all the...
